Art and education advocates Chris and Reed Halladay have been have been among the most committed to the PMCA during its 15-year history. As one of the Museum’s longest-serving trustees, Reed, along with Chris, has always supported the PMCA’s efforts to expand and strengthen arts education and recently led the charge as PMCA broadened its educational offerings to encompass the diverse community programs that have become the Museum’s signature. Native Angeleno and one of the country’s foremost reduction linocut artists, Dave Lefner helped widen the scope of PMCA programming with his highly popular series of printmaking workshops, which will continue this fall in conjunction with his exhibition in the PMCA Project Room, LA Redux: Reduction Linocuts by Dave Lefner.

¡FIESTA CUBANA! is a fun-filled Cuban- and Hollywood-themed celebration honoring the contributions these three outstanding individuals have made to the longevity of the PMCA, California art, and arts education! The benefit coincides with PMCA’s dynamic Getty Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibition Hollywood in Havana: Five Decades of Cuban Posters Promoting U.S. Films. Pulling from the vibrant film posters and the creativity and free expression used by Cuban artists to create them, ¡Fiesta Cubana! promises to be a lively affair just like the Hollywood and Cuban cultures it celebrates.

Decked in their best Havana or Hollywood ensembles, guests will dance the Salsa, Conga, Rumba, and more, amidst the PMCA’s iconic Kenny Scharf Kosmic Krylon Garage, which will be transformed into a humid Havana and hot Hollywood night. Set against a backdrop of classic silent films and Cuban décor, the evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 7:00pm followed by delicious Cuban botanas and drinks, live music, custom screenprints, and other surprises. A silent auction will also feature some of California’s most talented artists, as well as an array of exclusive items.

Proceeds from the event benefit the PMCA’s mission, its groundbreaking exhibitions of California art, and its expanding education and engagement initiative.
