JEE Advanced

This is one of the most prestigious B.Tech exams in India organized by IITs. This year IIT Delhi is the conducting authority. This exam is the gateway to take admission in the 23 IITs of India. The exam is normally taken by the top 2,50,000 students who have cleared JEE Main. The exam is of 3 hours duration.

  • It is a national level online examination for admission to IITs.
  • The registration fee for male candidates is 2800 INR, and for female candidates is 1400 INR.

  • Seats available for JEE Advanced till date are 10,988.

JEE Main

About 2.5 Lakhs top JEE Main examinees are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. JEE Main is conducted by NTA. About 8,69,010 students appeared for the January session of JEE Main 2020. The exam is of 3 hours duration for B.Tech aspirants.JEE Main may soon be available in other regional languages as well.
NTA has set up 4000 Test Practice Centers all over the country, as per the convenience of examinees.
JEE Main can be taken 3 times maximum, and one must secure at least 75 percent marks in 10+2 in all science subjects like Physics, Mathematics, etc.
The expected cut-off is 89 for General, 74 for OBC, 54 for SC, and 44 for ST.


BITSAT is amongst the most popular B.Tech Exams in India, organized by BITS, Pilani. This is an online national level test for engineering aspirants across the country.
BITSAT offers 2000 seats and about 3 Lakhs applicants take up this test every year.
To be eligible for BITSAT you must have secured 75 percent marks in 12th in subjects like Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. The average cut-off marks in all 3 BITs is between 300 – 350.


West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is conducted by the WBJEE Board. It is a State Level Offline Test and is taken to take admission to various top colleges on Engineering within West Bengal. After appearing in the rank list of WEJEE, you can take admission to Jadavpur University, Bengal Engineering, and Technology, Institute of Engineering & Management, Kalyani Government Engineering College, etc.
To be eligible, one must score at least 45 percent marks in science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc.
The cut-off rank for admission in some top colleges ranges between 1 – 12000.


KEAM is a state level examination conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Exam, Kerala. It is one of the most popular B.Tech exams in India after the BITSAT. This is an offline, State-level exam taken up by engineering students across the country. The duration of the exam is 2 hrs & 30 mins.

To be eligible for KEAM, you must score at least 50 percent in 10+2 in science streams like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.

The expected cut-off for various engineering courses ranges between 2000 – 55889.

VIT University, Vellore conducts the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam. The exam is taken in online mode and has 5000 seats available. The exam happens in 3 shifts and is of 2.5 hours duration.
To be eligible for this exam, you must have 60 percent or more scores in 12th in subjects like Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. For SC, ST, Kashmiri students, the criteria are 50 percent.
The first 20,000 Rank Holders will be selected for phase 1 round of counseling.


This exam is conducted by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, and it takes place in 46 cities across the country. The exam is of a 1-hour duration and consists of 25 questions. Each question with the correct answer will earn you four marks. The exam takes place in online and offline mode, and the medium of language is English.

To be eligible for this exam, one must have a score of 50 percent in 10+2 in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.


This is among the top BTech Exams in India conducted by the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination. It is a State Level Exam conducted in offline mode for admission to various engineering courses within the state. The exam is of 2 hours duration with 100 marks for each paper, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

The application fee is a nominal 550 INR for Men and 350 INR for Women.
To be eligible for this exam, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology as main subjects.


This is a state-level online exam for engineering students, conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. This is an exam for undergraduate aspirants with a total of 20000 seats.
Over 70000 applicants take up this test every year.

To be eligible one must score at least 45 percent marks in 10+2 in the science subjects. 40 percent is the criteria for OBC, SC & ST.

OJEE Board organizes the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination. It is a state-level exam available in both online and offline mode. The medium of exam is English only and is taken for entry to various engineering programs in the state. The exam duration of OJEE is 2 hours.

About 52,000 students apply for OJEE every year.
To be eligible one must have passed 10+2 with a decent score in the science stream.
The expected cut-off rank is 1-14059 for General applicants, 14058-14909 for OBC, 14240- 61231 for SC, 14481-83162 for ST.
